Been a while, isn’t it? In perfect mood to post a nice recipe after a relaxing weekend. Watched 2 super movies; Shutter Island and Inception. Do watch if possible. ‘ Don’t mind promoting movies here on a cookery blog site…After all you could enjoy this snack whilst watching the movie.
This recipe is a variation of the cheese balls, the ones which need to be deep fried. Not so deep here and one speciality is no onions and garlic… So here we go…
Ingredients: Makes 12 Small Cutlets
- Potato – Boiled – Grated – Medium – 5
- Green Chillies – Long – Chopped Fine – 3-4
- Cheese Spread – 3 Tbsp
- Cauliflower – Florets – Boiled – Grated – 3-4
- Carrot – Grated – Medium -1
- Mint Leaves – 10-12
- Coriander Leaves – 1 Tbsp
- Bread Slices – 3
- Salt – To Taste
- Oil - To Shallow Fry – 1 Tbsp
Method:
- In a bowl, take the grated potato, cauliflower and carrot.
- Add the mint leaves, coriander leaves, green chillies.
- Add the cheese spread and salt. Mix well with the tips of your fingers.
- Add the bread slices after soaking in water.
- Mix well to get a loose dough.
- Make small cutlets (1 inch diameter – approx).
- Shallow fry on a tawa with oil.
To serve:
- Smear cheese spread on each cutlet.
- Drizzle green chilly sauce on top of the melting cheesy
cutlets. - Serve hot with ketchup.
Culinary Secrets:
- Brown bread can also be used.
- Cheese Spread is readily available. Use it fresh, do not store for more days.
